Rastgar Group Inaugurates Center of Excellence in Compressed Air at National Textile University Karachi Campus

Karachi, Pakistan – May 9, 2024 – Building upon the success of the Center of Excellence in Compressed Air (CECA) established at the National Textile University (NTU) Faisalabad campus, a new center is being inaugurated today at the NTU Karachi campus. This initiative will serve as the only institute in the southern region dedicated to improving human resources in the field of compressed air.

The inauguration ceremony boasts a distinguished guest list, including:

  • Chief Guest: Syed Johar Ali Qandhari, President, Korangi Association of Trade and Industry
  • Guest of Honor: Mr. Daneshwar Dinshaw, Secretary General, Karachi Port Trust (KPT) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI)
  • Special Guests:
    • Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Vice-Chancellor, NTU Faisalabad
    • Imtiaz Rastgar, Chairman, Rastgar Group
    • Dr. Arshad Ali, Former Vice-Chancellor, NTU, Executive Director, Higher Education Commission (HEC), and CEO, Asian Institute of Industrial Air

The Rastgar Group, a key sponsor of the event, has played a pivotal role in establishing both CECA centers in collaboration with NTU and the Asian Institute of Industrial Air. Their contributions include:

  • Sponsoring the event
  • Establishing the center at NTU Karachi
  • Donating a state-of-the-art compressed air system from SKY Air Compressors
  • Decorating the CECA with informative posters highlighting crucial aspects of compressed air, from design and selection to installation, monitoring, and safety

The CECA in Faisalabad has already trained personnel from over 100 Pakistani industries and more than 500 individuals on various subjects related to compressed air, manufacturing, technology, and management. The Karachi center is poised to replicate this success and serve as a vital resource for the southern region’s industrial sector.

This initiative underscores the commitment of NTU, the Rastgar Group, and the Asian Institute of Industrial Air to empower the workforce with specialized knowledge and skills in compressed air technology. The Karachi CECA is expected to significantly enhance industrial efficiency, productivity, and safety standards in the region.
